The Certainty Of God’s Promise

Text: God did this so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. Hebrews 6:18-19 (NIV)

Over the years I have thought those times where I stretched and sacrificed that little bit more yet didn’t gain any results were the lowest times of my life. I have also realised that thoughts like these were from the father of lies and I am learning that God would never make a promise he won’t or has not already fulfilled to us. The difference is in the timing (Ecc 3:1).

Remember, our hope is in the person of the God we serve and never in our works. Our God is all together glorious – robed with majesty and armed with strength! (Psalm 93:1) God knows the end of a thing from its beginning and will always do whatever He says. All we should do is learn to wait for His time; God knows what is best for us.

LEARN and APPLY: Don’t feel drained! Hebrews 6:10 encourages us to believe that God is not unjust. He will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped His people and continue to help them.

Pray:
Father, thank You for every promise, which You have made to me. I trust that You will perfect every good work that You have begun in me, and I will testify in Jesus’ name, Amen.
