Everyone loves good things, but who doesn’t prefer better things?
A few days back, while passing through a street, I saw a signpost which read, ‘Better Life Ministry,’ and I wondered at this unique name for a church.
However, that signpost is a perfect pointer to what Christ did for us, for christ didn’t only usher us into new life, he gave us a better life.
The coming of Christ gave us access to better things (Heb 6:9), better hope, (Heb 7:19) and a better covenant. (Heb 7:22)
With Christ your life is better. The fullness of the Godhead dwells bodily in Christ. This means that when we received Christ into our life, all that belonged to Christ automatically became ours. And based on this understanding, we are be confident of better things concerning us:
We are Complete; (Col. 2:10)
We are Holy; (Heb 10:10)
We are Accepted; (Eph. 1:6)
We are Perfect; (Heb 10:14)
We are CHAP! – Complete, Holy, Accepted, Perfect!
O Christian, these better things available only in Christ should spur you to live nearer to Christ, so that you might discover the better things in that better covenant!
O sinner, Christ offers you better things. Turn away from your iniquity today, so that you will be ushered into a life which is sure of better things.
Prayer:
Thank you Father for the better things made available for me in Christ. I pray you reveal these things to me all the more, and daily enable me to live nearer to you. In Jesus name.
