6 Fresh Lessons From Psalm 119 #LAFruits

1. Believe His Word

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.160.niv All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.

2. Seek His Word.

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.2.niv Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart—

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.2-19.niv Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart— I am a stranger on earth; do not hide your commands from me.

3. Delight In His Word.

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.103.niv How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth!

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.131.niv I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands.

4. Meditate On His Word

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.97.niv Oh, how I love your law! I meditate on it all day long.

5. Obey His Word.

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.56-60.niv This has been my practice: I obey your precepts. You are my portion, Lord; I have promised to obey your words. I will hasten and not delay to obey your commands.

6. VALUE THE WORD

The Psalmist is just consumed with God’s Word. Can we say the same for ourselves?

Dude/Dudette Psalmist really challenged me.

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.2-20.niv Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart— My soul is consumed with longing for your laws at all times.

How do we feel when we haven’t read the Word? Are we okay? Can we go on with our activities as usual?

Do we yearn for the Word or do we read God’s Word because we have to (a routine religious activity)?

Does the Word dictate our every move? Or are we walking through life using our “common sense”? After all, God gave us this brain for a reason (Dangerous Doctrine, check Proverbs 3:5-6).

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.133.niv Direct my footsteps according to your word; let no sin rule over me.

Another deep verse:

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.63.niv I am a friend to all who fear you, to all who follow your precepts.

Do we roll with fellow lovers of the Word or do we roll with people that will help us close our Bibles and turn on the TV/Laptop? They say – “The Bible can certainly wait, it is not going anywhere and this is the Season Finale of our favorite show.” (OOPS!)

The Psalmist placed PREMIUM VALUE on the Word of God.

http://bible.com/111/psa.119.72.niv The law from your mouth is more precious to me than thousands of pieces of silver and gold.

The Word of God is actually invaluable.
It is priceless!

Pray: God, take me DEEPER! I will SEEK Your Word. I will LOVE Your Word. I will DELIGHT in Your Word. I will MEDITATE on Your Word. I will VALUE Your Word. I will OBEY Your Word in Jesus name. Amen!
