- Heb 9:22 – Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sins.
From Genesis to Revelation, blood is shed. And the life of the flesh is in the blood, and the blood makes atonement for the soul. WE are all related by blood. “God hath made of one blood all the nations of the earth.”
“When I see the blood I will pass over,” not when I see how good you are. In the communion, the wine or grape juice stands for blood. The blood of Jesus can cleanse every sin in your life.
Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins. Every sin has to be forgiven, and there is no way that sin can be forgiven except by the blood of Jesus.
Blood is symbolic. Jesus did all that for us on the cross of calvary. And we will be forgiven as though we didn’t;t sin.
We were redeemed with the precious blood of Christ as the Christ without blemish and without stain.
“They overcame by the blood of the Lamb”. Jesus paid the ransom. If Jesus hadn’t paid the ransom, we wouldn’t be saved. God is saying, I love you so much that I am willing to let my son die on the cross of Calvary.
2. Hebrews 11: 6 Without faith, you cannot please God.
What is faith? How do I get this faith?
Faith is believing and receiving what God has revealed – in the Bible, in nature, in conscience.
The trust in God and in Jesus Christ whom he sent.
After I receive Christ I prove that I am a Christian by my works. We can not do one single thing through works.
Ephesians 2:8-9 My salvation does not depend even 1% on what I do or am, it depends entirely on what Jesus has done for me.
Faith is the only approach to God. Jesus said, Have faith in God. God commands you, Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved. “Therefore being justified by faith we have peace in Christ Jesus”
Faith is:
- The reception of the gospel
- A total dependence of Christ for our forgiveness and for the fulfilment in our lives.
- Reclining our whole weight upon Jesus. Have you reclined your whole weight on Christ and Christ alone? We are not to recline on the church. We should not depend on the church. Your faith is in Christ, the person of the Lord Jesus Christ.
- Faith means I receive and I do something about it.
Put your whole weight on Jesus Christ. Jesus plus nothing. Just Jesus.
3. John 15:5 – Without me you can do nothing.
Without Jesus, we cannot bear any fruits. After we come to God the Father, the Holy Spirit comes to live in us. The moment you put your whole weight in Christ, the Spirit of God comes and lives in you, and works through you.
Some of Jesus followers are fruit-bearing Christians, while others are full of words without deeds. You’ve got to prove that you are right with God by bearing fruits – the fruits of the spirit. They are to characterise the true believer of Jesus Christ.
The real fruits attracts the bugs, but you never see the bugs going for the artificial plants. Sometimes the artificial trees look real, but no life!
Three ways to be useless to Jesus Christ:
- Refuse to listen
- Listen and render him lip service without deeds
- You don’t accept him Master and Lord over your life.
Jesus must be Lord of your family. Is he your Lord? Or are you among the branches that should be cut off. The fruitless branches must be cut of if the other branches are to bear quality fruit.
We must keep constant companionship with God. We must sense his presence every day. Because without him, we can’t do anything pleasing to God. With Him, we can be gentle, forgive the wrongs that have been done and the things that have been said.
The old man must die and Christ must live through me. His sap gives me the strength and the spiritual life that I must have.
Receive Christ into your life, put all your weight on the Lord, make him Lord and Saviour of your life.
Get up and receive Jesus into your life.
Declare: I want Christ, I want forgiveness and I want to put my trust in Him.
