We have not yet arrived (Mark 10) by Uche Stephanie

As an educator, I am blessed with the opportunity to work with young minds and experience first hand how they have a default tendency to rely on adults to guide and provide for them.

And in reading Mark 10, I was reminded that we are called to take on a similar childlike mentality in our expectations and servanthood as disciples of Christ.

In Mark 10:13-16, the gospel says, “Then they brought little children to Him, that He might touch them; but the disciples rebuked those who brought them.
But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, β€œLet the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God.

Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it.”

And He took them up in His arms, laid His hands on them, and blessed them.”

-These verses are a reminder that in the eyes of God we are children; and as children of God we must position ourselves in the role of receivers of knowledge and wisdom. We have not arrived; we still have much to learn in the areas of humility, love, servanthood and discipleship in Christ. We are the students and Christ Jesus is our Master Instructor😊

-So it is not on us to have everything figured out; in fact it is not possible. As believers we should exercise the wisdom He’s given us, know what to do next, and ensure our next steps are grounded in total reliance on Christ to provide for us and guide our way😊

Father we pray that we carry the wisdom and grace to come to you as little children and fully committ our lives into your hands, in Jesus name we pray. Amen😊
