The Right Way of Handling Adversity (Revelation 14)

Revelation 14:11-12 NIV

And the smoke of their torment will rise for ever and ever. There will be no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.” This calls for patient endurance on the part of the people of God who keep his commands and remain faithful to Jesus.

From yesterday’s reading (Revelation 13), we saw that buying and selling was exclusively for those who had the mark of the beast.

I’m sure in that day it will seem like those who receive the mark are the smart ones while those who refuse to receive the mark are foolish.

Well! Now we see how it ends for those who receive the mark – endless torment. Wow!

These verses encourage me to stand firm till the end.

You may find yourself in situations where it seems like cutting corners is the only way to go. Others are doing it and seem to be getting away with it. They may even tease and taunt you for not joining in. Don’t allow that to affect you, keep your eyes on the one whose opinion really matters – God.

See how Jesus handled adversity:

http://bible.com/111/heb.12.2.niv fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

In the face of adversity, don’t compromise. Stand firm and endure patiently. You will come out victorious.

Pray: Lord! In the midst of adversity and trials, help me to keep Your commands and remain faithful to You in Jesus name. Amen.
