READ #LAActs Devotional Day 7 ‘God’s Place Of Rest, Is In You’

Heaven is my throne and earth is my footstool; what house will ye build me? Saith the Lord; or what is the place of my rest? Acts 7:4

Build a house for God! Have you ever wondered what kind of house it would be that He can’t build for Himself? Have you also ever wondered who needs whom more? Or, do you recall Luke 19:40, where God said ‘if humans won’t serve and praise Him, He can raise stones in her stead to praise Him’?

To some degree, God almost does not need you and me to achieve anything; we need Him to achieve everything. God isn’t requesting that we build Him a mansion. The body we have is the temple of God that is His place of rest. He is only asking that we build in us a place pure and holy that can accommodate Him.

The heavens is the Lord throne and the earth His footstool. (Isa 66:1, Acts 7:49) Since He owns everything, what part can we reproduce for Him? The truth is, we cannot give Him what already belongs to Him, especially when we dont even control it. We are the ones who need many things from the controller of heaven and earth. The only way to get everything we desire is by making a resting place for Him within us.

When we make a resting place for God in our hearts, we bring favour to ourselves. We have invited the controller of all things to abide in us, thus making us equal controllers.

Prayer Focus
Father in heaven, we have come to say thank You for counting us worthy of Your grace. We pray for more grace to be able to create and maintain a resting place for You in us, in Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
