READ #LAActs Devotional Day 1 ‘Communicate’

COMMUNICATE!

Then they prayed, ‘Lord, you know everyone’s heart. Show us which of these two you have chosen. Acts 1:24 (NIV)

One of the errors a Christian can make is to rely solely on a judgement made or aided by the physical senses, which assumes that a thing is good because it looks and feels good.

After the death of Judas Iscariot and the ascension of Christ. There was a need to replace Judas for the fulfilment of the prophesy, (Acts 1:20). The apostles had to choose between Matthias and Justus Barsabbas, two men well qualified for the position. To make that decision, the apostles chose to pray!

As leaders, we must always talk to God. We must never get to a point where we feel too complacent to consult God on any matter, regardless of its importance or non importance.

Yes, it is good to have advisors and counsellors however every decision we need to make regarding family, relationship, spiritual or work must first be discussed with God. Only one advice and counsel should stand, God’s.

So today, to excel and fulfil those potentials don’t rely on your ‘feelings’, talk to God.

Prayer Focus
Faithful Father, I thank You for the grace to come boldly to You for counsel. I rely on You for every decision, no matter how trivial. I ask that You will direct me in Jesus’ amazing name, Amen.
