January: the month of FAITH

Reading: Luke 5-8

The Efficacy of Prayer.

Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles: Luke 6:12-13

Our aim and objective in life is to be like our Saviour Jesus. When choosing His disciples, He didn’t just wake up and decide to choose who would work with Him independently. He still knew the importance of seeking His Father’s mind, and face, concerning major decisions He was to make, despite being a combination of Divinity and humanity,

Decisions made after praying turn out to be more successful than the ones made without prayer. Christ showed us that we need to pray always and went as far as teaching us the Lord’s prayer in Luke 11:2.

When do we need to pray? Always, “pray without ceasing” 1 Thess 5:17.

How do we pray? By applying God’s word concerning every matter for which we are praying and reminding Him of His promises concerning our lives.

For what do we pray? Everything! From major decisions of choosing a spouse, course of study, place of residence to minor decisions of when to eat and friends to keep.

Why should we pray? So that our reasoning may not interfere with the will of God for our lives.

Finally, for whom do we pray? Everyone: friends, family, relations, The LAFamily, enemies, yes! Even that difficult boss and neighbour whom you would rather avoid, needs your prayers.

Pray without ceasing and watch your life transform from struggles and mediocrity to excellence and bliss!

Prayer focus:
Lord, help me to always trust and depend on You concerning every aspect of my life, knowing that You hear me when I pray. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
