#LAWisdom: You need good food (1 Kings 19)

From 1 Kings 19, we see Elijah, who a while ago slew 450 prophets of Baal, experience a down time. Jezebel had threatened to kill him, and fearing for his life, he hid himself, though he was very hungry.
This goes to show that even the strongest of us can have down times – times when we are confused, times when we are afraid, times when we don’t know what to do.
Good news is – God will not leave us the same way – he’ll change our situation, and feed us with his word, until we are strong enough to face our giants.
Twice Elijah was told to arise and eat, after which he was able to go another forty days journey (vv. 5&7).
Sometimes all we need is good food – the milk and meat of the word of God combined, which will challenge and enable us to make progress in life.
May God feed us even tonight, and may His spirit energize us to face our giants in Jesus name.
