#LAJoshua Devotional Day 6 by Olushola Oludayo

DO NOT BE AFRAID!

‘The Lord said to Joshua, ‘Do not be afraid of them….’ ‘ Joshua 11:6a (Goodnews)

One of the things that caught my attention in today was the phrase, ‘Do not be afraid’. God wasn’t just advising Joshua to be strong and courageous, He was commanding him. He didn’t say ‘you have to be strong’ instead, He instructed Joshua to ‘be strong’.

So too must we be strong and courageous because in life, and in our race as Christians, we will be faced with situations that only courage will see us overcome. We must live each day confident of the victory we have in Christ.

Like Joshua and the Isrealites, are you also faced with an army with as many men as the sand on the seashore? (Joshua 11:4) Do you think the battle is lost? Does the future look bleak?

The Lord commands us not to be afraid. He is set to give us a victory over all that trouble us. Remember, we have more on our side (2 Kings 6:16-17).

Be strong and take courage
Do not fear or be dismayed
For the Lord will go before us
And His light will show the way.

Prayer Focus
Faithful Father, we commit our lives and all that afflict us into Your hand and are confident that You are able to help us through each turbulent period of our lives in Jesus’ name, Amen.
