#LAIsaiah Devotional Day 16 by Adaobi Nwosu

A Productive Life

Until the Spirit is poured upon us from on high, And the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, And the fruitful field is counted as a forest. Isaiah 32:15

The Spirit referred to in the scripture reference is the Spirit of God which causes the wilderness to be a fruitful field. This signifies productivity and increase. When we receive the Holy Spirit after we have been saved, we receive the ability to live a productive and fruitful life. In the book of Acts, the disciples received the ability to preach the gospel and perform miracles after they received the Holy Spirit.

God’s Spirit at work in you causes you to operate at a supernatural level. Christians need the Holy Spirit to live an effective life. Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as our Comforter in John 14:26 and the Amplified version describes Comforter as ‘Counsellor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby‘. The Holy Spirit is all of these things and more to a believer.

As we plug into the supernatural dimension through the Holy Spirit, we receive power to live a victorious life. The Holy Spirit is an integral part of the new covenant we have in Christ. If you have received Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and have not received the Holy Spirit, ask God for the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Prayer focus
Dear Lord, thank You for sending the Holy Spirit to be my Comforter and Helper. I yield myself to be constantly led by Him. I receive the ability to live a victorious life, in Jesus’ name, Amen.
