DRAW CLOSER
Therefore the Lord said ‘In as much as these people draw near with their mouths And honour Me with their lips, But have removed their hearts far from Me, And their fear towards Me is taught by commandment of men.’ Isaiah 29:13
This people draw nigh unto me with their mouth, and honours me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. Matthew 15:8.
By the words of our mouths, the way we dress and the friends we keep, it is obvious that we are Christians. However, despite these, our hearts can be far from God. A person can be disconnected from God when the time taken out to fellowship with God is reduced or there is none at all. We can become detached from God when we get too busy with the cares of this world. Therefore we must always make out time to seek and find God.
The closer we draw to God, we will realise that He is not that far from each one of us. We can only commune with God by studying the word, fellowship, prayers, worship and through reconciliation with God. A good relationship consists in the union of our hearts to him and not the words of our mouths and appearance.
Decide to draw near to God today and He will draw near you in return.
Prayer Focus
Lord, give me a heart of worship in Jesus’s name. Father, let me remain humble in all my pursuit in life and help me never to lose sight of Jesus. Lord, may I not run after the comfort of this life and forget You in Jesus’s name, Amen.
