ONE SPIRIT, ONE BODY, ONE GOD.
Have you ever wondered if true unity in Christ is attainable in our world today? It is preached over and over, yet we still find ourselves caught up in this web of disharmony.
A school of thought argues that our denominations are our greatest undoing. However, let us explore how we can turn them into our greatest asset.
Firstly, we should know that each denomination has its different strength in the kingdom of God, just as God appointed some as apostles, some as teachers etc. The spirit gives different kinds of gifts to different individuals.
Secondly, God has called us into this kingdom and getting our calling right requires maturity. The original purpose of these denominations was for us to harness each other’s strength and grow together and not to divide us, we would achieve much more together.
We cannot eliminate denominations but we can love each other unconditionally. Let us embrace each other’s strengths, learn from each other’s weaknesses and correct each other’s mistakes in love.
As One spirit serving the One true God, we can help each other to grow and move forward together as one body in Christ.
Prayer Focus
Father, we understand that it is your desire for us to be one in Christ. Help us to come to this realization, let it sink into our hearts and let it produce change in our lives, in Jesus name.
