As part of efforts to keep members updated, we bring to you the discussions from our whatsapp family. Enjoy!

Ese: Good morning Family.
I have a question in Ps 91:1- What is this secret place? What does it mean?
In vs 2 my study bible states 4 things God is to those in the secret place. Firstly, a refuge and hiding place. Secondly, a fortress of place of protection. Thirdly, a true and faithful God. Fourth, a trust, a place of safety.
Vs 9: Shows condition upon which NO evil may befall us and thats when God is our permanent living place.
Vs 14-16
God makes loads of promises to protect, deliver, raise up and answer WHENEVER we call.
Another question i got… ‘What does it mean to show us His salvation?’

1 Chro 23:1
Starts with David being old and full of days (notice how days was used there)
David was 70yrs old at this time. Abraham,Isaac, Jacob and even Moses lived to over 100. I read that Kings of Israel became old cos of the hard live they lived in war and strain.
SHAMAIAH is a new name i got today for my unborn son. Hehehe. Its means ‘that hears and obeys God.’
God’s grace is sufficient for each and every one of us and we shall reign and rule on this earth. #LA187- The takeover generation.

Mercy: I believe the secret place of God is His very presence, where, not everyone can enter into but those with pure hearts and clean hands. Psalm 25:14 KJV
The secret of the Lord is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. Psalm 24:3-4 KJV

Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.

His presence is heaven to us, cos there you get to fellowship with God and u can be sure you’re safe in His presence.

Ibukun: Ps 91 summary: God protects His own

Veronique: Good morning family
In 1Chron.22:9, we can see God’s foretelling that Solomon ll be the next king and would be the one to build the temple. My question is, the David+Bathsheba’s union that produed Solomon, was it part of God’s plan. Why didn’t Solomon come from one of David’s ‘legit’ wives?

Ibukun: Ps 91:1 He who dwells in the shelter of the most High (NIV). What comes to mind is God is a strong tower, the righteous run into it and are saved. So the secret place = shelter. This could mean the presence of God just has Mercy has already said!

Well, our God is a God of surprises. He doesn’t always do what we expect but also God has a purpose for everyone whether their parents mean to or don’t mean to have a child. Even though we might look at Solomon as a “mistake”, God definitely had a plan for him. Maybe He wanted to compensate him for being a love-child, maybe He wanted to show that good things can come in different disguises, only God knows.
“Sometimes, what we think is a mistake, in God’s eyes is a blessing.”

Mercy: Ibunkun has said it all. If we understand God 100%, then He won’t be God.

Ibukun: From the stories of Joash and Uzziah, I’ve learnt that it is important not to only start well but to finish well. It’s not enough to Do-Something, the key is to KEEP Doing-Something

Olu Seun:

Ibukun please expand. What’s their story?

Psalm 91 is one Psalm all Christians should memorize. Remember it’s the word that God sent forth. The words we speak therefore are POWERFUL.

Psalm 91 is one Psalm all Christians should memorize. Remember it’s the word that God sent forth. The words we speak therefore are POWERFUL.

I Chronicles 23:1 NKJV

So when David was old and full of days, he made his son Solomon king over Israel.

Amazing, David was definitely NOT power hungry. Remember most if not all of the Kings in 2 Kings were only succeeded by another King when they died/were killed.

I Chronicles 23:4-5 NKJV

Of these, twenty-four thousand were to look after the work of the house of the Lord , six thousand were officers and judges, four thousand were gatekeepers, and four thousand praised the Lord with musical instruments, “which I made,” said David, “for giving praise.”

I love how David divided the labor in the house of God.
It’s called the BODY OF CHRIST for a reason. Each person has a part in this body. One person cannot do it alone.

I Chronicles 24:3 NKJV

Then David with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to the schedule of their service.

Keyword: SCHEDULE. This is to tell us that the proceedings in the house of God should be orderly.

IJ:
Psalm 91 The Message (MSG) 91 vs 1-13 You who sit down in the High God’s presence,
spend the night in Shaddai’s shadow,
Say this: “GOD, you’re my refuge.
I trust in you and I’m safe!”
That’s right—he rescues you from hidden traps, shields you from deadly hazards. His huge outstretched arms protect you— under them you’re perfectly safe;
his arms fend off all harm.
Fear nothing—not wild wolves in the night, not flying arrows in the day,
Not disease that prowls through the darkness, not disaster that erupts at high noon.
Even though others succumb all around drop like flies right and left, no harm will even graze you.
You’ll stand untouched, watch it all from a distance, watch the wicked turn into corpses.
Yes, because GOD’s your refuge,
the High God your very own home,
Evil can’t get close to you, harm can’t get through the door.
He ordered his angels to guard you wherever you go.
If you stumble, they’ll catch you;
their job is to keep you from falling.
You’ll walk unharmed among lions and snakes, and kick young lions and serpents from the
path. 14-16 “If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says GOD, “I’ll get you out of any trouble.
I’ll give you the best of care…
if you’ll only get to know and trust me.
Call me and I’ll answer, be at your side in bad
times; I’ll rescue you, then throw you a party.
I’ll give you a long life, give you a long drink of salvation!”

Olu Seun: I love this translation
I’ll rescue you, then I’ll throw you a party.

Sound familiar? Story of the Prodigal Son!

IJ:
You who sit day n night in God’s presence, studying, meditating and sharing HIS words… You who stand boldly and say it loud, ‘GOD IS MY REFUGE’…and trusting HIM totally n completely believing that in HIM alone, U are safe… These promises are for Us… That’s right! Now my favourite parts, ‘under HIS huge outstretched arms, we are PERFECTLY safe, safe from whatever may come our way…. FEAR NOTHING!!! Cos even when others fall, we wud stand UNTOUCHED and watch it all from a distance. If GOD has ordered HIS angels to guard u wherever u go…telling them, ‘Hey guys, just follow dis my beloved child, ur job is to keep him from falling. He must not fall o. Make sure he does n’t fall. When he stumbles, you must catch him, he must nt get hurt, ok.” BODYGUARD THINGS o… GOD said, all we need to do is hold on to HIM for dear life, if we do, HE will get us out of ANY trouble and give us the best of care… Yeah, the very BEST! If we will only get to KNOW n TRUST HIM, HE will ALWAYS be there for us and above all throw us a partyHE will cause us to be celebrated… If, If, If… If only we wud HOLD HIM, GET TO KNOW n TRUST HIM… D fulfilment of these promises is in our hands… Hmmmm…Imagine GOD throwing U a party…

Mercy: Ik, means God will through a party for you in a matter of days. Fresh!
