Hello Beloved #LA187 Family of God! It’s Day 176! Welcome to September!!

Please complete the following: Can two walk together, unless _______________________?

Hint: Amos 3

Testimony time 🙂

“I got a job offer last Thursday, and will be concluding arrangements tomorrow, by God’s Grace
I had another fantastic job offer yesterday (last day of August) and concluded the terms and conditions today (and even got a raise beyond the agreements)!” – #LA187 Family Member

This month we will surely testify! This is our month to finish strong!

Today, we read Proverbs 20 and Amos 3 – 6.

Our Dami Poet shared on Proverbs 20:4 -The lazy man will not plow because of winter;
He will beg during harvest and have nothing.

We have our reasons. We have our opinions. We have our excuses. The death of a loved one. Cancer. Rain. Traffic. Etc.

We often find reasons not to do that which God desires of us. The cold is sufficient reason to dissuade the sluggard from farming. He would catch a cold and have to pay extra on hospital bills. But he fails to see the bigger picture.

Can you see the big picture? Can you see how the nights of burning the midnight candle reading will pay off in the long run? Can you see how exercising very early in the morning will add years to your life?

What is that “cold” in your life? Are you afraid to take that next step in your relationship because of (fill in the gap)? Are you saying I will join the workforce of my church when (fill in the gap)?

The second part of this verse is scary. He shall beg in harvest and have nothing. If the Bible had said -> He shall have nothing and then beg in harvest. We would have said that he would definitely get something after begging. But the Bible says He shall beg in harvest and (still) have nothing. No one will come to his rescue. This is the abject case of folly. Will you wait for harvest before you start sowing your seeds? Will you wait for others to glean before you begin to plant your corn???

What are you waiting for?
Put on your sweater and get out in the cold!!!

Amos 3:3 talks about the power of agreement. As clearly shown by the Bible in Matthew 18:19-20

“Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”

Let us not underestimate this power and make sure that as believers we are making use of this great power available to us. We, #LA187, walk together in Agreement.

On Amos 4, @Ogetours tweeted that the Lord tried severally to get Israel’s attention, all to no avail. May we be so attentive to Him and quick in responding to Him!

Amos 5 verses 21-23 show that the activities that would normally please God become displeasing when it is done out of hypocrisy and insincerity.

Amos 6 – Self Reliance, Arrogance, Pride, Nonchalance and Apathy! These traits the Lord detests!

Our memory verse for today was from Proverbs 20:13

Do not love sleep, lest you come to poverty; Open your eyes, and you will be satisfied with bread.

Stay FRESH and ALIVE!
