#LA187: DAY 173 – We Will Not Take Our Lover For Granted

#LA187 FAMILY

Hello Favored #LA187 Family of God! It’s Day 173! Another Fresh day with the Word.

Quiz time 🙂

Under what circumstances is a fool considered wise?

Hint: Proverbs 17

Today, we read Proverbs 17 and Hosea 8-11.

Our cook for the day, Lola Fresh, served an elaborate meal on Proverbs and Hosea.

Proverbs 17: 14 – The start of a quarrel is like a leak in a dam, so stop it before it bursts. (MSG)

With friends it is so easy to go wrong, choose the wrong friends and you are doomed, choose the right ones, and then they’ll be a blessing to you. Choosing friends is one thing, managing and maintaining the friendship is another. A lot of things that people do to us can actually be overlooked. We don’t have to make mountains out of molehills. Even if it’s a mountain, pray for the strength to see it as a molehill. Some Christians say “I don’t take rubbish”. “Slap me, I slap my own”. This shouldn’t be. What is the difference between your aggressive spirit and that of an unbeliever? Let Jesus’ love show forth in everything, including how we respond to fights and quarrels.

Hosea 8: This whole chapter talks about how the people of Israel kept saying they knew God, but were not actually acting as if they knew him. They were saying one thing, and doing the opposite of what they were saying.  They were not doing what they preached. They were ignoring God’s instructions to them, and even when they obeyed them, they did so partially. As children of God, are we like the Israelites? Do we preach something and then go into our closet where we think nobody can see and then do the exact opposite? Living a Life of hypocrisy really gets God angry, it pisses him off.

Hosea 11: God loves us. The love He has for us is indescribable, unfathomable. We cannot fully explain it. But it doesn’t mean we should take Him for granted. It’s easy to take someone that loves us for granted, pretty easy….and the thing is we might not even realize that we are doing so, which is why we should always be conscious of it.  Please, let’s always make a conscious effort not to take our Lover (God) for granted.

YUMMY!!!

From Hosea 9:7-8, we see that we should be ready to encounter hostility when we speak the truth as watchmen.

On Hosea 10:12Sow for yourselves righteousness; Reap in mercy; Break up your fallow ground,
For it is time to seek the Lord, Till He comes and rains righteousness on you.-,
@LA187Family gave some fresh insight on Twitter. We’ll share a few:

“You have to sow righteousness for yourself! You have to determine FOR YOURSELF that you will be right with God! Nobody can do that for you.”

“But OUR righteousness is as filthy rags before God! To sow to righteousness requires a desire to allow God’s word and Spirit to produce in us His righteousness! We may be honorable & honest, but without God’s word& Spirit, it is self-righteousness. Not Enough!”

“If we plant in our hearts and lives God’s Word we will in time produce a life of godly righteousness! We would have sown for ourselves…”

“After sowing in righteousness, we will reap mercy. When we sow in the Spirit, we shall of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

“The mind of man is often compared to the ground in the bible. Sometimes our hearts get matted down, hard and dry, so nothing can be sown in.”

“To break up the fallow ground therefore, is to bring the mind into such a state that it is fit to receive the Word of God.”

“Our hard hearts cannot bring fruit and it is this softening of the heart, to make it feel the truth, that’s breaking up your fallow ground.”

Our memory verse for today was from Proverbs 17:22

A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones.

May God heal anyone with a broken Spirit amongst us.

Stay FRESH and ALIVE!
