#LA187: DAY 155 – Lamentations

#LA187 FAMILY

Hello Spiritually Healthy #LA187 Family! It’s Day 155! Sing for the joy of the Lord is our strength!

Quiz time 🙂

Complete the following: Through the Lord’s ____________ we are not consumed!

Hint: Lamentations 3.

Today, we read Psalms 149 and Lamentations 1-4.

Henry served a full course meal on Psalms 149 today!

We are to sing unto the Lord a new song; for a new mercy received, a new victory obtained, or a new salvation wrought; more particularly the new song of redeeming grace through Jesus Christ, the song of the Lamb. We children of Zion (the Church) shall rejoice in our King, in God’s Son, the King of Messiah – the King of Zion; for we are born of her through the ministry of the word, and brought up there by means of the Gospel. Every appearance of Christ’s kingdom is a matter of joy to the saints. Yahweh takes pleasure in a special and peculiar people, whom he has foreknown and chosen, taken into the covenant of his grace, and provided in it blessings for them.

We delved into the book of Lamentations today, it was quite an eye opener. The writer was essentially lamenting about the state of Judah and Jerusalem. @Signetseal did an awesome job of summarizing the short but powerful book: “The book of Lamentations is a distress song of regrets, filled with nostalgia & a painful cry on how the mighty has fallen.”

Based on Lamentations 1:5 “…..For the Lord has afflicted her, Because of the multitude of her transgressions….” We can easily deduce that transgressions come along with suffering.

Lamentations 1:9 “….She did not consider her destiny; Therefore her collapse was awesome; She had no comforter….” Liz enjoined each and every #LA187 family member to consider their destiny!

@Signetseal warns us to beware of misleading prophets and vision seers. For they see visions that are empty and deceptive. So says Lamentations 2:14.

@Ogetours observed from Lamentations 3:21 that in the midst of the writer’s lament, he recalled and had hope. She urges us not to give up hope. Let us remain HOPE-FULL!

Oh! Such degradation, shame and disgrace… brought about by iniquity! However, there is an assurance of an end to the punishment that befell Zion. Just check Lamentations 4!

Our memory verse for today was from Psalms 149:6

Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a two-edged sword in their hand.

We personalize: Let the high praises of God be in #LA187 ‘s mouth and a two-edged sword in our hands!

Stay FRESH and ALIVE!
