#LA187: DAY 139 – God’s Word Shall Not Return To Him VOID

FRESHNESS

Hello Sweet #LA187! It’s Day 139! Yayy!

Quiz time 🙂

Please complete the following: For My _______________ are not your _____________, Nor are your _________________ My _____________________.

Hint: Isaiah 55.

Today, we read Psalms 133 and Isaiah 55-58.

There were lots of helpers in the kitchen as usual. Dami Poet was on hand to help Ibukun out with the breakfast shift. He served fresh on Isaiah 55:1, teaching us that the invitation is out. COME. The call has gone forth to all and sundry. The only requirement is that you be thirsty. God says COME. Come without fear of reproach, without feelings of angst or doubt. He urges us to come freely. Like the Deer pants for waters. Are you panting? Are you coming?

Moving on to Isaiah 56, Ibukun shared on how pleasurable it is to God when we keep His laws in all situations. Also, as believers we should be quick to encourage unbelievers and welcome them into God’s presence because it is a delightful thing in God’s eyes. There is shouting in heaven over one lost sheep that has found its way home.

Isaiah 57:2 shows that the righteous are the ones who enter into peace; this is a sharp contrast to the fate that befalls the wicked in Isaiah 57:21 where the Lord declares… “There is no peace for the wicked”. Let us endeavor to stay on the path of righteousness, the righteousness we inherited as part of the redemption package when we became born again.

Isaiah 58 speaks to us about the true fasting, the type that is pleasing unto God. Here’s what our #LA187 Twitter brethren had to add:

“When you fast; “Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer; You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.’” – @_ekaks

“Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily #LA187 the power of fasting” – @_ekaks

“A true fast shld open d door to true repentance& sharing. Jesus tells us dat to ave love 4 others in His Name is to fast Is55:5-9 #LA187” – @SignetSeal

“Lesson & Application of Is58:5-9: we shld not 4get our Christian duties of kindness & Charity to those in need or those we meet #LA187:)” – @SignetSeal

“Is 58:5-7 What does it matter to God if we starve ourselves 4 a day & make gestures of false piety when we love not our brethren? #LA187” – @SignetSeal

So many promises flowing from today’s readings; Isaiah 55:11 assures us that God’s word can never return to Him void. Isaiah 56:2 lets us know that we are blessed for keeping justice and DOing righteousness. From Isaiah 57 we are guaranteed peace. May we reap the benefits of true fasting in Isaiah 58, some of which are God’s guidance and satisfaction of our souls.

Claim your promises!

Our memory verse for today was from Psalm 133:1

Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity!

May the Spirit of unity remain at work in us in Jesus name. Reminds us of our theme song, do have a listen.

Stay FRESH and ALIVE!
