#LA187: DAY 136 – TRUST IN HIM AND NO OTHER

FRESHNESS

Hello United family! It’s Day 136! May we stay united through the same Word that brought us together in the first place.

Quiz time 🙂

What happens when we pass through the waters, rivers and fire?

Hint: Isaiah 43.

Today, we read Psalms 120 and Isaiah 43-46.

We start off with breakfast as usual!

Ibukun, our early morning cook, served fresh food on Isaiah 43: “God is awesome shikena. He commands what He wants and takes care of His own. He’s the ultimate and the only God.”

Still on Isaiah 43, @Jiokemad from our Twitter family laid emphasis on the need for us to be sensitive as Christians. We need to be alert in order to catch the brand new thing He will do.

On Isaiah 45, Ibukun was quick to remind us that once we are on God’s side, no one can stand against us. We have a lot to gain as believers because God has so many great things in store for us. However, we have a part to play to access all the great things in store. First and foremost, we need to have FAITH to believe God’s promises. Secondly, we need to realize our IDENTITY in Christ because we are entitled to these blessings as sons. The Word says that God has blessed us with ALL spiritual blessings. Let’s not forget that having GOD is having ALL but having ALL without God is NOTHING.

Her summary on all the readings: We serve an AWESOME God who is willing to do anything for us. He’s only asking that we put our TRUST IN HIM and no other.

Let’s tackle Psalms 130: Verse 3 and 4 read “If You, Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, That You may be feared.” Dami Poet shared that we have a better covenant. We are His righteousness in Christ Jesus. The Lord will not mark iniquity at all because we are totally covered by the BLOOD of Jesus.

In Isaiah 44, God clearly shows his disgust for idol worship. It is utter foolishness for man to put his trust in something made by man himself. @Le_Maxx from our Twitter family shares “God is God alone. No one else is worthy of worship. No one else can share His glory. He is the Creator of all things.” @Tolulope_A adds “Let God be God in every area of your life. Put those idols away.”

What did @Ogetours share with us on Isaiah 46? Idols are burdensome while God is our burden bearer. What a wonderful privilege!

Heartfelt thanks to all who contributed, special shout to Omotola who sent her commentary in via VoiceNote… #FRESH!

Our memory verse for today was from Psalm 130:5

I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, And in His Word do I hope.

God is His Word! Keep hoping in His Word!

Stay FRESH and ALIVE!
