#LA187: DAY 130 – Where Is Your Help?

FRESHNESS

Hello Wonderful Family! It’s Day 130. Oh what a wonderful day it was.

Quiz time 🙂

Complete the following: Prepare the table______ eat, drink. Arise______.

Hint: Isaiah 21.

Testimony time 🙂

“Reading through Isaiah with #LA187 family, it is as though my eyes suddenly became open and I could understand all I was reading. God bless #la187 family.” That is a testimony from our WhatsApp family.

Today, we read Psalms 124 and Isaiah 19-22.

“Isaiah is full of God’s reassurances for His people as well and He decisively punishes them when they err. That’s wholesome…”

We started off with a FRESH serving from Ibukun:

Isaiah 22 (Message Version) – “Your leaders were cowardly, captured without even lifting a sword. A country of cowards caught escaping the battle.”

It means when we are faced with challenges, God considers it wrong for us to run away. We are expected to face our challenges. And we should do it with confidence knowing God is with us. Running away can be a show of lack of faith.

Also, the people of Judah everything to protect themselves. The mistake they made was leaving God out. According to Message, they looked but they never looked to Him. So you may be doing all you think you can, but without God, All is Nothing.

And to the steward, Shebna, God said you’re an outsider but you act like you own the place. Needles to say, he was punished. This is to show once again that PRIDE does not go unpunished. Also, he wasn’t just punished, he was replaced. Pride denies one of opportunities he might have gotten. In Isaiah 20, we see that those who put their trust in the King of Assyria were disappointed. Only God won’t fail. Putting our trust in anything else is like enetering one chance.

In Isaiah 19, after God punished the Egyptians, he gave them another chance to turn back to Him. God gives us second chances and it’s up to us to decide what we do then. Plus we shouldn’t always see bad things as blockages, they can be stepping stones, and what we do in such situations determines what happens to us. A classic example is Job. While he was waiting on God, he acted right and eventually, he got double!

W-O-W!!! Ibukun, more GRACE!

Are you full? Is there space for more?

Hopilinto, our cook for the day brought some more food. Feast on this please:

“In Isaiah 21, in the days of Isaiah they built their walled cities and relied on the watchman to keep informed of impending dangers. There were times during d night that a call would go forth: “Watchman what of the night; tell us what you see” and he would respond all is well or all is not well ooo.
And I believe that God has raised up pastors, evangelist, apostles, prophets and church workers that they might be watchmen over his kingdom. The same goes for mothers and fathers.”

Just as God told Ezekiel “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel; therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from Me:” So is God calling us to be His watchmen. As a watchman we are not to hold back or keep silent, instead we are to sound the alarm.

Our memory verse for today was from Psalm 124:8

Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

If our help is in the LORD who made heaven and earth, need we fear anything?

Stay FRESH and ALIVE!
