#LA187: DAY 117 – Wisdom Is Not Measured By Age

FRESHNESS

Hello Family! It’s Day 117. 117 out of 187, we’re definitely making progress.

Quiz time 🙂

Complete this statement made by Job: “For destruction from God is a terror to me,
And because of His __________________ I cannot endure.”

Hint: Job 31 from today’s reading.

Today, we read Psalms 117 and Job 29-32.

In Job 29, we see Job reflecting on his happy past – the sweet fellowship with God, respect accorded him by men – and wistfully yearning for the good old days. @Oge tweeted: “Ah Job’s pain was so intense dat he longed for “the gud old days” may our today @La187Family ALWAYS b better dan our yesteday IJN!!!#LA187

Did you catch the prayer in that tweet? We sure hope you did.

Job 30 shows Job speaking on his present condition. Olu Seun pointed out that the change in Job’s condition brings to remembrance the story of Jesus. In one moment, the crowd was shouting “Hosanna. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.  Hosanna in the highest.” In another moment, these people shouted “Crucify Him!”

In the fitting words of Matthew Henry: “The best of saints have sometimes received the worst of injuries and indignities from a spiteful, scornful, wicked world, and must not think it strange; our Master himself was thus abused.”

On Job 31, @Oge asks “Job confidently asked 2b weighed in God’s scale…can we also make bold 2 ask God to weigh our secret thoughts, words & actions?#LA187

Job 32 introduces us to a new character in the book of Job, his name is Elihu, the young man who spoke so wisely and taught us a valuable lesson.

Job 32:8-9

But there is a spirit in man,
And the breath of the Almighty gives him understanding.
Great men are not always wise,
Nor do the aged always understand justice.

“Lessons learnt from #job #LA187 today! #Mindblowing 1. Wisdom is not measure by our age. When it has to do with God. #LA187” – @Tolulope_a

“Elihu was simply saying…wisdom isn’t by physical gray hair but by Spiritual gray hair & depth…stay in the Word…#LA187” – @Ogetours

“Age is only a number. If God has given you a message for someone, by all means, deliver!#LA187” – @Buqolar

Our memory verse for today was from Psalm 117:1-2

Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles! Laud Him, all you peoples! For His merciful kindness is great toward us, And the truth of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord!

That’s the whole Psalm, bet you saw that coming!

Stay FRESH, ALIVE AND WISE!
