#LA130Prayer from Matthew 19 and 20:

  1. Thank you Jesus because through your word, I have the keys to a glorious life.
  2. My marriage shall not end up in a divorce in Jesus name. I shall marry well. Matthew 19:1-6
  3. I am free from the love of material things in Jesus name. Matthew 19:21
  4. Teach me to always remember that with you all things are possible. Matthew 19:26
  5. Every impossible situation in my life, hear the word of the Lord and become possible in Jesus name. Matthew 19:26
  6. Yes Lord, I receive all that belongs to me in this life and in the life to come in Jesus name. Matthew 19:28-29
  7. Lord, remove every trait of jealousy in my life in Jesus name. Matthew 20:12

Based on Matthew 19:16-24, sibling ONE asked: “How is it hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven? Does it mean we shouldn’t be rich?

Sibling TWO answered, in a very elaborate share for that matter:

I believe Christ meant rich in heart (with the things of the world). A soul that is holding on to the things of the world. Things that are not “of” Him. That wealth leads to death. The wealth Christ desires for our soul is eternal life – just the knowledge of Him. Now, that’s the kinda wealth we should be bothered about.

Like the Israelites, he wanted them to hold on to Him alone. In like manner, God wants our soul to be for Him alone. Remember the beatitudes; the poor in heart would see the kingdom of God.

“Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (KJV)”

This is in connection to what Jesus told that rich man, “you have a fat soul, one full of the riches of this world, one holding on to lies, one holding on to the corruptible.”

While he was making men His disciples, he said to “drop ALL and follow me, allow your soul let go of lies, the world, and follow me to learn the ways of truth, and to hold truth. Only then can you become Truth”

Remember to “drop the weight that easily besets you”. His riches were one thing his soul must have held on to very much. He probably esteemed it more than God and Christ knew this. He told him to drop what seemed like an impossible to learn of truth.”

The first stage of becoming love is to show love… Letting go is a step to loving God back. My phone is enough wealth my soul can handle to be declared “rich” in God’s sight. Letting it go and wanting to hold unto Him is being “poor” at heart and in spirit.

WOW! How thorough was that?

Food For Thought: God doesn’t mind us having wealth. The wealth, however, should not become an idol in our hearts.

Please deposit Matthew 19:29 into the memory bank:

And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.
