Jan. 13 – Mark 13

Are You Sleeping?
Mark 13

Text: lest, coming suddenly, he find you sleeping. Mark 13:36

Learn and Apply: My parents came visiting in Moscow, and I observed that they always sought opportunity to pray. At some point, when visiting our pastor, they started singing in preparation for prayer, I had to tell them to wait a little more, to relax a little more, that the time for prayer hadn’t come. Looking back at it now, I feel that they are at alert, always watching and praying.

Prayer can never be too much. Watching can never be too much. The one who is watchful can never be wasteful of his time and resources. God expects us to watch so as not to fall into temptation. The cares of this world will choke our faith when we fail to watch and pray.

Therefore, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light (Ephesians 5:14). You and I will not be found sleeping when the Master comes in Jesus name.

Pray: Thank you Father for admonishing me to watch and pray. Help me to be watchful in Jesus name.
