Dec. 17 – Philemon 1

Back for Good
Philemon 1

Text: Perhaps the reason he was separated from you for a little while was that you might have him back forever— Philemon 1:15

Learn and Apply:

Paul entreated Philemon – a slave owner, and now a brother – to accept Onesimus his slave back into his house and heart. Some points caught my heart from the reading:

1. We should be active in sharing our faith (v. 6); let’s put what we believe out there, actively! We should not be passive in our proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what it means to us. We should tell the world that Jesus saves, and only by doing so shall we have a full understanding of what we have in Christ.

2. Some things are taken away from us temporarily, so that we may have them back permanently. Paul asked Philemon to consider the possibility that Onesimus was separated from him for a while, for him to have Onesimus back for good.

May everything that is yours, which has been taken away from you, come back for your good in Jesus name! God will bring back that lost son, that lost job, that business, that ministry. He will restore in Jesus name!

Pray: Thank you Father for I know everything is working together for my good, in Jesus name. I pray restoration in every area of my life in Jesus name.
