August 24 – Judges 10

Last Hope
Judges 10

Text: So they put away the foreign gods from among them and served the Lord. And His soul could no longer endure the misery of Israel. Judges 10:16

Learn and Apply:

God doesn’t want His people to play the harlot with foreign gods, because sin brings oppression and captivity, and God is of purer eyes than to behold iniquity. Sin makes God turn His back on us. “Surely the arm of the Lord is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear; But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear” (Isaiah 59:1-2).

The sin of the Israelites again brought oppression and captivity. Their enemies were strengthened against them to destroy them. When they realized their evil, they turned again to God to help them and deliver them. They asked for God’s mercy. And God, being merciful and full of loving kindness, did not forsake them for too long. He responded and delivered them from their enemies.

God is not far from the repentant heart. As we call on God, confess and put away our sins, He will answer us and deliver us from that giant that is troubling us.

The Lord will deliver you today in Jesus name.

Pray: Thank you Father for your loving kindness. I pray you help me to remain faithful and not to return to my sin in Jesus name.
